Shore fishing

Enjoy one of the island's flagship activities: shore fishing. From the port of Château-d'Oléron, via the coastal path, you can go fishing on foot (boots essential). You can fish: cockles, clams, mussels, periwinkles, shrimps, etc.

Here are some tips: each returned stone must be put back in place at the risk of the disappearance of the microfauna, do not plow the soil, the algae must be carefully picked (do not pull them out), check the tide times and the coefficients, adapt your equipment to the weather conditions, do not go alone or warn those around you and fish according to your needs.

Please note, some areas are classified as "nature reserves" and fishing is prohibited. Do not hesitate to inquire at reception before setting off on the adventure.
